The Nash Jazz Summer Camp at Arizona School of the Arts

Attention instrumentalists and vocalists: Spend a fun-filled week learning and performing jazz with the Nash Jazz Summer Camp's all-star faculty!
Lewis Nash, Charles Lewis, Dennis Rowland, Corcoran Holt, Mary Petrich, Chris Finet, Clark Gibson, Ashlin Parker, Jeff Libman and Deborah Weisz invite students ages 12 and up to attend this week-long day camp held on the campus of Arizona School for the Arts.
Campers participate in all day jazz intensive studies, featuring improv, combos and masterclasses with our stellar faculty. Each day of the camp week concludes with a faculty concert for students, with the week culminating in a faculty performance on Friday, and a Saturday afternoon student concert at world-renowned jazz club, The Nash.

Scholarships: To be considered for a half scholarship ($300 off tuition), write a one page letter describing why jazz music is important to you, as well as a brief description of your dedication to music. To be considered for a full scholarship ($600) please send a video of you playing Sunny Moon for Two in the key of Bb (one chorus melody, 3 choruses improvisation) to the Director of Education. Vocalists can send a short of video of them singing a standard or blues to a backing track. Please send all videos and letters to the Director of Education at clark.gibson@thenash.org.
Please keep in mind that scholarships are limited and we may not be able to fund all scholarship requests.
Lunch: Students are expected to provide their own sack lunch for the duration of the camp. We will have snacks, waters, and sodas available.
Student Safety: Student safety is our top priority at The Nash. All students under the age of 18 will be required to check-in when arriving to the camp each morning with our camp administrators. Minors will be under supervision from the time they are dropped off until picked up. Students under the age of 18 will not be allowed to leave the ASA campus until being picked up by their registered guardian at the end of each day.
Disruptive Conduct: You acknowledge and agree that The Nash reserves the right to remove you from the summer camp, in its sole discretion, if it is determined that your presence or behavior is creating a disruption or hinderance to the enjoyment of other attendees. All students are expected to treat students, faculty and administrators with respect at all times. If you are asked to leave the camp due to poor conduct, tuition will not be refunded. If you are a victim of harassment of any kind report this behavior immediately to a Nash summer camp faculty or administrator immediately. For emergencies, dial 911.
