As a vocalist and trumpet player, Christine Fawson has always loved performing classic standards from the American Songbook. Her new album SINGS JAZZ (Fall 2018) features some of her favorite jazz standards, with arrangements by pianist Tim Ray. The album features Christine on voice, trumpet and flugelhorn, Tim Ray on piano, David Zinno on bass and Casey Schereuell on drums, with a guest appearance by jazz vocalist David Scott.
Tim Ray’s wide-ranging skills as a soloist and accompanist have afforded him the opportunity to perform with legendary performers from all walks of music. Appearing on over 80 recordings to date, Tim has performed in concert with an extensive list of pop music icons, notably Aretha Franklin, Lyle Lovett, Jane Siberry and Soul Asylum. He regularly performs with leading figures in the jazz world, among them Tony Bennett, Kurt Elling, Gary Burton, Esperanza Spalding, Phil Woods, Scott Hamilton, Dave Douglas, John Patitucci, Brian Blade, Lewis Nash and Rufus Reid. A native of Phoenix, AZ, Tim is a Professor at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, and has released 5 albums under his own name.
