Glen Gross-trumpet, Malik Alkabir-tenor sax, Jamar Harmon-piano, Alan Lewine-bass, Pete Amahl (Peter Costa Amaral)-drums, Cyria Rose Lightning will read poetry.
The Glen Gross Quintet will perform a selection of original compositions and Jazz and Latin standards, with an emphasis on Modal Jazz from the Post-Bop era. Trumpeter Glendon Gross has performed with Bo Diddley, Bobby Shew,  Chris Potter, Bill Watrous, Jason Carder, Frank Valdes, Martha Reeves, Brenda Holloway, the Drifters, the Coasters, George Howard, and Blinky Williams and the Hollywood Choir, the Tucson Pops Orchestra and the Sierra Vista Symphony.    Malik Alkabir was born in Morocco and has performed with Peggy Lee, Anthony Braxton, Don Patterson, and TSOP.  Bassist Alan Lewine has performed with Anita O’Day, Eddie Daniels, and Roy Hargrove, and has frequently toured Cuba in the last 10 years playing his original compositions.   Pianist Jamar Harmon is a veteran of the Tucson R&B Scene and is the music director for Don Nottingham.  Drummer Pete Amahl has performed with Mose Allison, Dianne Warwick,  Eddie Harris, and Richie Cole, and is a founder of the New Mexico Jazz Workshop.  Singer Stevie Woods is a native of Cleveland and has toured Dubai with her own band.  She may be frequently heard leading her own group “Stevie Woods and Company” at a variety of Tucson venues, and can be regularly heard with the Glen Gross Quartet.  Poetess Cyria Rose Lightning will read some of her celebrated original poetry with reference to the great tradition of Jazz and Poetry dating back to the Beatnik Era.  An inspirational and creative experience is guaranteed to be had by all.
