A Special Father’s Day Jazz Matinee, featuring: Joel Robin-piano, Adrian Goldenthal-bass, Julian Goldenthal-drums, with special guests Delphine Cortez-vocals, Tony Vacca-sax/flute

What were the odds that a piano player would be blessed with 2 sons who play bass and drums? That is the case for pianist Joel Robin (Goldenthal) and his sons – bassist Adrian and drummer Julian. Both sons grew up exposed to dad’s rehearsals with the likes of Francine Reed and gravitated toward the music. At the age of 9, Julian subbed on an afternoon concert gig with Francine’s band because the group’s regular drummer was unavailable. Francine said, “Let’s get Julian; he knows all of our tunes!” Adrian announced his interest in playing the bass in his early teens and the family trio was born.
