JAZZmeetsPOETRY: To Pac, With Love

June 14 @ 7:30 PM

To Pac, With Love
Celebrating all the roses growing from concrete
A love letter & soul jazz experience

The 2018-2019 season of JAZZmeetsPOETRY series comes to an end with our “WE JAZZ JUNE” finale.

This time we tribute rapper/actor TUPAC SHAKUR in a love letter experience to the tune of soul jazz. Go on a journey of anyone who can be considered a rose growing from concrete….

Born June 16 in New York City, a young Tupac and his family moved to Baltimore when he was a teen, where, in addition to acting, he studied poetry, jazz and ballet at the Baltimore School for the Arts. The “Poetic Justice” star sampled numerous jazz musicians, and those songs – from ROY AYERS to HERBIE HANCOCK, GEORGE BENSON to GROVER WASHINGTON and STANLEY CLARKE to JOE SAMPLE, and more – will serve as the soundtrack to the show.

Co-produced by Marche-Pfister Productions and The Nash, the series provides a platform for poets and jazz musicians to make art that is expressive, interactive and captivating. Advance tickets: $15, $8 Students (25 & under w/ ID); At door: $20, $10 Students (plus processing costs).
