Nick MacGregor is a once-in-a-generation creative mind. A prolific jazz musician, composer, and producer that blends nostalgic roots with a cinematic modern sound. He is known for his rich compositions, dynamic arranging, and deep musical intuition, drawing from jazz, soul, R&B, and gospel/CCM influences. Playing drums and piano since age 4, Nick developed a voice that connects deep tradition with modern storytelling. He earned both a Bachelor and Master of Music in Jazz Studies from Arizona State University, as well as a Certificate in Music Business. Nick studied under world-renowned masters including Lewis Nash, Dom Moio, Corcoran Holt, Michael Kocour, Dr. Jeff Libman, and Clarke Rigsby, all before turning 25.
Nick has shared the stage with legends such as the great Charles Lewis, Wayne Bergeron, Grammy Award winners Nathan De’Shon Myers and Myron Butler, and critically-acclaimed composer Bill Banfield. This show marks Nick’s final performance in Phoenix before relocating to New York City, featuring original music from his four-album instrumental series Light Source, a collection that captures his evolving artistic voice through rhythm, harmony, nostalgia, and atmosphere.
