Enjoy this show by master pianist, composer and arranger Bill Cunliffe as he plays a set list of jazz at the movies. from My Funny Valentine and the theme to Body Heat to Stella by Starlight and Girl from Ipanema. The brilliant playing by Cunliffe and his trio is augmented by amusing personal anecdotes about the songs. The finale is Cunliffe’s signature Extravaganza, taking three impromptu audience suggestions–in this case The Entertainer, Rhapsody in Blue and Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody–and intertwining them into a new composition.
These “OMT” shows will be streamed on Facebook in their entirety (minus the intermission) so that you can enjoy them along with others (virtually, of course) as if you were in the audience. You can comment interactively with other viewers and the musicians who are viewing the show.
