“Aside from being the most influential jazz guitarist to emerge in the 21st century, Kurt Rosenwinkel is also a highly regarded songwriter who already in 1995 received the composers award from the National Endowment of the Arts. His project “Caipi” brings the guitarist and composer together, and is partly Rosenwinkel’s homage to his deep love of Brazilian music and Milton Nascimento. It also features several Brazilian musicians including Pedro Martins, himself a aureate of The 2015 Socar Guitar Competition at the 49th Montreux Jazz Festival, and whose latest album “Vox” was released on Kurt’s Heartcore Records label in 2019. This will be an evening of gorgeous melodies and soaring guitar solos!”
