Few names in the jazz community command more respect than Charles Lewis, the first jazz-category inductee of the Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame. And over the last 40 years, Lewis Nash has established himself as “the most valuable player in Jazz” (Modern Drummer Magazine).
The original Charles Lewis Quintet Plus One goes back to 1974 – when it not only performed in Valley clubs, but engaged elementary School kids in interactive performances in Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, as well as towns throughout Arizona, and Indian Reservations throughout statewide for the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Due to the success of the group’s reunion after more than four decades in May, and the unusual availability of all of its members this summer, we get to enjoy their extended heartfelt swinging reunion and the thrill of performing music together. Don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity to experience the quintessential Phoenix jazz group at The Nash!
