You Sarang has become one of the top jazz vocalists on the scene in Seoul, South Korea, continuing the lineage of Korean jazz divas.

In 2014, You Sarang received the honor of “Rising Star” by ‘Jazz People,’ the number one jazz magazine in Korea.
Shortly afterwords, she released her debut album “My Way,” through Sony Music Korea in 2015. Having been in charge of jazz on TBS Radio for four years, she won the grand prize in the 2019 Korean Popular Culture and Arts Award, an annual South Korean awards ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. In 2021, She performed at the Daegu International Jazz Festival in South Korea. You Sarang continues her work of spreading jazz across the country with performance at events and festivals, as well as the country’s top jazz venues.
You Sarang and Friends will be playing a selection of original song composed and released by You, titles form Korean pop and jazz music, as well a variety jazz standards. She will be performing alongside her husband, James Lee (bass), a ‘past’ Phoenix local and graduate from Arizona State University. The band members Garrett Becwar, Sam Russo, and Ben Cortez, are phoenix artists as well as friends and fellow musicians of You Sarang and James Lee.
