Holly Channell-drums, Mary Petrich-sax, Claudia Bloom-piano, Ben Hedquist-bass Recently named a 2023 Sister in Jazz by the Jazz Education Network, drummer Holly Channell pays tribute to Academy Award winning song-writer Dorothy Fields who co-wrote over 200 jazz standards that we know and love today! Some of her repertoire includes Sunny Side of the Street, The Way You Look Tonight and I Can't Give You Anything But Love. Royce Murray-organ, Eric Bart-guitar, Tim Robinson-drums A master on the Hammond B3, Royce Murray has opened for Tony Monaco, Joey DeFrancesco and the legendary Jimmy Smith. He has toured with Blues Hall of Fame artist “Big Pete” Pearson.

From the mid-1970s through the early 90s, Francine reigned as the most popular jazz and blues vocalist in the Valley.  In fact, she was still winning New Times/Best of Phoenix awards  after she moved to Atlanta!  Francine appeared with her bands Jazz Alive and Fever at venues such as The Boojum Tree, Chuy’s and Chuy’s Next Door/The Night Club, Churchill’s Pub and Bombay Bicycle Club, plus numerous festivals and concert halls. Pete Pancrazi-guitar/vocals, Claudia Bloom-piano, Todd Johnson-bass, Connor Sample-drums Pete has been one to watch in the Phoenix area since taking up residence here in 1990. Through the years, he has cultivated a large and loyal following. Audiences enjoy his nimble guitar work and warm vocals in settings ranging from solo performances to shows with his trio and quartet at the top jazz venues in Arizona. Pete continues to delight audiences with a growing repertoire of original compositions, straight-ahead and Latin jazz standards, and pop classics performed with a jazz twist.    

Jazz combos are the core of the ASU Jazz Studies program. These exciting small jazz groups allow students to showcase their improvisational skills in a variety of styles including bebop, fusion and avant-garde, while offering a creative outlet for student composers and arrangers. Nick Finzer Quartet - Dreams, Visions, Illusions On April 21, prepare to experience the magic of Nick Finzer's latest project "Dreams, Visions, Illusions" - a thematically and psychologically penetrating work — one that explores the role of the muse in creative inspiration. Mr. Jones is a musical chameleon, comfortable in any musical setting no matter the role or genre. After a six-month stint with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Wynton Marsalis offered him a permanent position as lead trumpeter of the ensemble, a post he held from 2004 until 2010. In 2015, Mr. Jones was tapped to become a member of the SFJAZZ Collective. During this time, he has managed to keep a core group of talented musicians together under his leadership, forming the foundation for groups that have produced and released eight recordings on Mack Avenue Records. Corner Pocket presents the music of Wayne Shorter Denny Monce - trumpet, Adam Roberts - saxes, Dave Henning - piano, Chris Ross - bass, Connor Sample - drum set Equally renowned for his compositions as for his saxophone playing, Wayne Shorter has contributed many songs to the jazz canon while participating in some of the major changes in jazz music over the last 40 years, and has received nine Grammy Awards for his recordings.   

Monica Shriver-saxophones, Benjamin Cortez-piano, Vincent Thiefain-bass, Erik Teichmann-drums Saxophonist and composer Monica Shriver, now based in Nashville, TN, returns to The Nash for a special show! She will be joined by Benjamin Cortez, Vince Thiefain and Erik Teichmann.
