“First Lady of Song” Ella Fitzgerald was the most popular female jazz singer in the United States for more than half a century. In her lifetime she won 13 Grammy awards and sold over 40 million albums. Known for her purity of tone, phrasing, timing, impeccable diction, and “horn-like” scat improvisations, Fitzgerald remains one of the most beloved jazz artists of all time.

Critically acclaimed for her soulfully swinging song craft, Sherry Roberson has appeared in concert for two decades with the Jazz Divas and has toured overseas to Bangkok, Thailand and Istanbul, Turkey. Roberson’s ability to play with time by moving phrases ahead or behind the beat make her spontaneous interpretations of the Great American Songbook an audience favorite.
