Nazim Rashid & New Renaissance – A John Coltrane Tribute

Nazim Rashid & New Renaissance will be performing a very special tribute to John Coltrane at The Nash Jazz Club. This will be a rare musical treat for all you Coltrane lovers. I will have Michael Collins on piano, Ryan Anthony on drums and Max Beckman on bass.

Nazim has worked with some of the world’s greatest jazz masters such as: Eddie Harris, Eddie Henderson, Hank Jones, Arthur Prysock, Richard “Groove” Holmes, Carl Burnett, Billy Higgins, Pharoah Sanders, Richard “Muhal” Abrams, Odean Pope, Jimmy Smith, John Handy, Mary Stallings and many others.

He has an extensive history, mainly in the San Francisco Bay Area. He played with the San Francisco Big Band for 13 years; performed with his own group (The Nazim Rashid Sextet) and is currently performing with his quartet (The New Renaissance Quartet aka Nazim Rashid & New Renaissance) in the Phoenix, AZ area.
