She peels back the bandages over homelessness, dependency, and religious dogma. The heavier issues of a culture that quickly celebrates success but sweeps its failures under the rug nudge Kim into a socially conscious envelope rarely seen from many of today’s artists. And all that observation and commentary is wrapped in harmony and chord progressions as complex as our humanity.
