Known as the ‘High Priestess of Soul’, Nina Simone was the consummate musical storyteller who used her remarkable talent to create a legacy of liberation, empowerment, passion, and love through a magnificent body of works. Rosalyn McClore is a hidden treasure of an artist who possesses extraordinary depth as both a pianist and vocalist. This one-woman show is a compelling tribute to Miss Simone and a timely reminder of the racial injustice that informed her life and work.
Rosalyn McClore has gained a reputation at jazz festivals worldwide and east coast venues for sophisticated, elegant and seductive performances capturing the essence of Nina Simone. Held on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, McClore pays tribute to the great singer/songwriter and her work as a civil rights activist through a riveting performance of Nina Simone’s works.
