“To Phoenix with Love – an Art Farmer Tribute.” Art Farmer spent his formative years growing up in Phoenix, moving here in 1933, while he was still four years old, and then moving to Los Angeles in 1945 at age 16 to finish high school, gain further music education and play gigs. This program will consist of music Art played on Flugelhorn from the sixties through the 1970s. There will be also some discussion of Art’s career, family and the rhythm sections he employed.

The band consists of Denny Monce (flugelhorn), Stan Sorenson (guitar), John Donnelly (bass), Bob Daniels (drums) and special guest, San Diego based pianist Reka Parker.
