Richard Brennan is an Arizona based musician who is currently studying for his Bachelor’s in Music Education at Arizona State University. Richard was born and raised in Rio Rico, Arizona, and started his musical journey in 5th grade. Throughout middle school and high school, Richard started studying at the Tucson Jazz Institute, and through the program received many awards and recognitions, including 2 first place wins at the national Essentially Ellington Festival and Competition. Some of Richard’s musical mentors include Brice Winston, Doug Tidaback, Scott Black, Quinn O’donnell, Patrick Echlin, Rachel Gasper and the entire jazz faculty at ASU.
The Brennan Sextet is comprised of Arizona native jazz musicians. The show will consist of jazz classics and vintage repertoire from the Jazz Messengers library. Along with these pieces of jazz history, the show will also feature many of Richard’s originals, including some world premieres. Come enjoy a soulful performance full of energy and enjoyment.
