Nicole Pesce – A Tribute to Hoagy Carmichael

May 14 @ 7:30 PM

“One Morning in May” – A Tribute to composer Hoagy Carmichael

Jerry Donato – saxophone, Renee Patrick – vocals, Nicole Pesce – keys, Sheila Earley – drums

Since performing at the age of 14 for Debbie Reynolds at her Las Vegas Hotel and Cassio, pianist, keyboardist, composer and arranger Nicole Pesce has been entertaining audiences with a unique blend of virtuosity, humor and pizzazz! Nicole has created this show especially for The Nash Under the Stars to celebrate Hoagy Carnichael, who American composer and author Alec Wilder described as the “most talented, inventive, sophisticated and jazz-oriented of all the great craftsmen” of pop songs in the first half of the 20th century. Melodic saxophonist Jerry Donato, sassy vocalist Rene Patrick and swinging drummer Sheila Earley will join Nicole in delivering fresh renditions of more than a dozen Hoagy favorites, including Georgia On My Mind, Baltimore Oriole, Heart and Soul, The Nearness of You, Up a Lazy River and Stardust. This is a slice of Americana that you won’t want to miss!
