“A Creature of Many Faces: Celebrating the Music of Randy Brecker”
On November 16th Phoenix College’s Superstition Jazz Orchestra (SJO) will continue its jazz masters series, presenting the music of Grammy Award-winning trumpeter and composer, RANDY BRECKER. For more than five decades, Brecker has helped shape the sound of jazz, R&B and rock—from the funk-fusion of the Brecker Brothers Band to Brecker’s beautiful Brazilian-style tunes. The SJO and its fine soloists promise an electrifying evening of Brecker’s music, featuring special arrangements written by composers Mike Crotty and Nick Cooper.
