JAZZ MASTERS’ SERIES The Superstition Jazz Orchestra presents "A Creature of Many Faces: Celebrating the Music of Randy Brecker" On November 16th Phoenix College’s Superstition Jazz Orchestra (SJO) will continue its jazz masters series, presenting the music of Grammy Award-winning trumpeter and composer, RANDY BRECKER. For more than five decades, Brecker has helped shape the sound of jazz, R&B and rock—from the funk-fusion of the Brecker Brothers Band to Brecker’s beautiful Brazilian-style tunes. The SJO and its fine soloists promise an electrifying evening of Brecker’s music, featuring special arrangements written by composers Mike Crotty and Nick Cooper.

Randy Napoleon cut his teeth touring with pianist Benny Green, The Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, Michael Bublé, and a thirteen year tenure with Freddy Cole. He has also performed with artists across the jazz spectrum such as Bill Charlap, Natalie Cole, Monty Alexander, Rodney Whitaker and John Pizzarelli. This holiday marks the arrival of Christopher Columbus to the island in 1493.
