The Nash Legacy Ensembles

We currently have 4 Nash Legacy ensembles. These combos are designated for high school students and feature some of the top high school students in the state. In these combos, we focus on improvisation and playing challenging rep from composers such as Horace Silver, Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and more.

The Nash Legacy Ensembles are comprised of talented high school jazz musicians from across the Phoenix area who auditioned into this signature program of The Nash. Students in the Legacy ensembles explore essential jazz styles, composition and arranging techniques, and the art of improvisation, gaining invaluable small-group performance experience with expert coaching. This program performs at concerts and special events throughout the year. The Nash Legacy Ensemble program is fully funded and there is no cost to the participants.

At The Nash, we are proud to provide affordable education to students of the age 18 and below regardless of economic background. We ask that if you value our offerings at The Nash that you pay what you think we're worth. If classes are unaffordable for you, we have created a system that allows you to take classes with us at prices ranging from $0-$500.
