Jazz Girls Day and Hot Dogs & Jazz

The Nash is very excited to partner up with Jazz Girls Day as they expand out to Arizona. Come work with members of the Michael Dease Quintet.

JAZZ GIRLS DAY invites and inspires girls for a day filled with learning, playing, and performing. One of the goals of the day is to help girls prepare for their All-State jazz auditions, although this is not a requirement to attend. The idea behind JAZZ GIRLS DAY is not only to welcome girls to start or continue playing jazz but also encourage music educators to encourage girls to play jazz.

This program is for all instrumentalists and vocalists (traditional AND non-traditional) at all levels. The only prerequisites are middle and high school students who identify as female. Accompanying adults are welcome as well!

Music Educators are welcome to register for the JGD: Jazz Education session.

Session runs 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM and is free but registration is required. REGISTER HERE

Hot Dogs & Jazz will run from 11:00am-12:00pm, and is a great opportunity for children and families to enjoy a fun program about jazz — the music born in America and found in Hip-Hop and other popular music.

Join us as our accomplished musicians demonstrate different instruments and styles of jazz, and give kids a chance to move and sing to the music. Following the show, families will have a chance to meet the band while everyone enjoys free hot dogs, answering the question, What’s More American than Hot Dogs? Jazz!
