The Stage Door Swings – Jazz goes to Broadway and the Movies

Jazz music has influenced the music of Broadway from the early years of musical shows, going all the way back to the early years of the 20th century.  Many of the great jazz musicians and composers and arrangers ended up in Los Angeles in the recording studios, so of course there is a close connection to movie music as well.  Our concert will bring our own jazz interpretations to many of the great hits from these shows that have made up so much of the “Great American Songbook.”  We will have a brand new CD for sale from the Stan Kenton Legacy Orchestra with many of these tunes.  The name of the CD is “The Stage Door Still Swings.”
