THE NEW GUARD BIG BAND is Phoenix’s premiere jazz orchestra, comprising 17 of the most talented and in-demand musicians in the Valley. The Band will perform two completely different knockout shows in one night, both featuring the great vocalist Dennis Rowland, who toured with the Count Basie Orchestra for seven years. On the first show, The Band will play many of Basie’s most familiar and beloved works. The second show will offer exciting selections from the pens of Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Bob Freedman and more. Note: there is a 25% discount when you buy both shows! Managed and rehearsed by Kevin Tangney, the members of The New Guard Big Band are excited to bring these shows to The Nash: one of the “Great Jazz Venues in the World” (Downbeat Magazine).
